Home Instead, Inc. has a partnership with J.D. Powers to create a Quality Assurance program called PEAQ (Pursuing Excellence by Advancing Quality)to ensure that the highest quality care is being given to seniors and that the CAREGivers were also receiving the support they need.
Home Instead, Inc. headquartered in Omaha, NE requires all of its franchises to abide by franchise standards. One standard is the Quality Assurance program that consists of documented calls to the client and/or family members and in-home visits. Another standard that all franchises must adhere to is that all CAREGivers must complete basic and safety training.
Home Instead Inc. takes Research and Development very seriously. One example is the guide to help seniors and their family members communicate better called The 40/70 Rule and The 70/40 Rule. This guide is designed to aide children and their aging parents deal with those sensitive life topics that often make conversations difficult. The scenarios and responses developed in the guide were completed with the input from author Jake Harwood, Ph.D., from the University of Arizona. The company interviewed 1,500 Canadian and U.S. adult children of aging parents, asking them about their relationships with their parents, and how they handle discussing sensitive topics with these older adults.
Be a Santa to a Senior is one of the most successful programs run by Home Instead Senior Care franchise owners s across the network. The popular campaign delivered more than 400,000 gifts to the needy seniors throughout North America and across Canada. Area retailers, along with agencies that serve older adults, have partnered with local senior-care service to provide gifts to seniors in need. This program is in its fifth year and last year more than 26,400 volunteers distributed gifts to deserving seniors. In the past five years, since introducing the Be a Santa to a Senior program, Home Instead Senior Care has helped provide more than a million gifts to over 700,000 seniors.
The Home Instead Center for Successful Aging at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, is the product of a vision by Paul and Lori Hogan to help change the face of aging. The center will offer specialized services aimed at helping seniors age better and live healthier lives. It will be the only free-standing center tied to an academic medical center focused on aging in Nebraska and the region.
The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation was founded by Paul and Lori Hogan to enhance the lives of older adults. The foundation’s primary funding is derived through the benevolence of Home Instead Senior Care franchise owners. Home Instead also has a Disaster Relief Foundation to aide franchise owners who have been affected by natural disasters.
